As with previous installments, the player controls the character Kratos from a fixed-camera perspective in combo-based combat, platforming, and puzzle games. It is a third-person single-player video game. God of War III is an action-adventure game with hack and slash elements. Loosely based on Greek mythology, the game is set in ancient Greece with vengeance as its central motif. Released for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) console on March 16, 2010, the game is the fifth installment in the God of War series, the final chapter of the greek era of the series, the seventh game chronologically, and the sequel to 2007’s God of War II.
